Exploring Features of the Evacuation Slyde

When emergency situations arise, you need a reliable evacuation plan. This is especially important if you need to move a non-ambulatory individual. The Evacuation Slyde by DQE is a revolutionary rescue sled that can assist in transporting disabled, injured, or immobile persons to safety. Lifesaving equipment should be readily available for every person. Being prepared for emergency situations is not only common sense; if you are an employer, it is your legal responsibility.[1] Slyde can give you peace of mind when the unexpected happens.

Two Sizes to Meet Every Need

Our standard Slyde is designed to accommodate individuals up to 500 pounds (226 kilograms). We also manufacture a larger model, the Bariatric Slyde, which is capable of transporting patients up to 800 pounds (362 kilograms). The Slyde has strong web handles that provide multi-point control for two to seven carriers.

Crafted from Durable Materials

Each Evacuation Slyde is crafted from high-quality corrugated polypropylene. Measuring 12 millimeters thick, the sled is sturdy and rigid, yet incredibly lightweight, designed for easy movement. In fact, the standard Slyde weighs only nine pounds, and the Bariatric Slyde weighs eleven pounds. The rugged frame allows for the transportation of heart monitors, first aid materials, and additional lifesaving equipment, which can be carried safely with the individual. In addition to efficiently moving individuals down stairs, the Evacuation Slyde can also be useful for transporting evacuees over uneven terrain.

Easy to Use Instructions

In the midst of an emergency situation, you need a device that is easy to use. Every Evacuation Slyde includes instructional graphics, which are printed directly on the sled for simple setup and implementation.

Built-in Buckles for Safe and Effective Use

In the event of an emergency, it is important to keep an immobile individual as stationary as possible during transport. Slyde comes with buckle restraints built into the sled, which restrict movement and keep the evacuee safe and secure.

A Space-Saving Emergency Device

While being attentive to immobile evacuees, it is also important to keep the stairwells, hallways, and other passageways clear for other people. Slyde will not restrict the flow of traffic in emergency situations.

Additionally, the Evacuation Slyde is designed for simple, space-saving storage. Wall-mountable, foldable, and stackable, five sleds can be stored in a smaller space than a single evacuation chair.

Slyde Accessories

Belluscura also offers a protective cover – the Slyde Sleeve – which can hold up to five Slydes for easy access. This sleeve can be mounted on the wall near your lifesaving equipment so it is easy to locate at a moment’s notice.

A rope belay system – rated at 5,000 pounds (22.241108 kilonewtons) – is also available for purchase, which can assist the Evacuation Slyde in safely lowering patients down stairs. The rope belay system comes with two carabiners and its own stairwell storage box, which can serve as an anchor point for the rope.
